Description

SNORKELLING

A day on a boat near Tiran Island. Tiran Island lies at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba, where the distance between Egypt and Saudi Arabia narrows to just 20 km.

It is an important passage for trade linked to the port of Eilat in Israel and to Aqaba, Jordan’s only port.

Uninhabited and desert-like, what makes Tiran Island so fascinating are its rocky mountains, which at dawn and sunset turn a thousand shades of pink, reflected in the turquoise and lavender sea.

The island forms a striking backdrop to the crystal-clear waters and rich seabed surrounding it. Thanks to the currents of the Strait of Tiran, there are numerous varieties of coral and fish, making this one of the must-see destinations for divers and snorkellers alike.

During the excursion you approach an interesting merchant shipwreck that ran aground on the coral and sank in 1962. There are also three snorkelling stops at the nearby coral reefs, which are sure to amaze you with their colours, the backdrop to clouds of tropical fish.

Get ready to be literally immersed in the very best the sea has to offer.
